The first thing you'll need to do is decide on the type of plan you want. If you're not sure whether this VR thing is for you, give the one-month membership a try. It's only $14.99 and you'll get a month of full access.

The other options are a 3-month, 1-year, and lifetime membership, with the latter obviously offering the best price over the long term.

The one-time upfront cost of $250 amounts to pennies-a-day over the life of the membership.

Once you've picked your plan you'll need to enter your payment info. VirtualTaboo accepts all major credit cards and and debit cards, and is one of the sites that accept PayPal.

The last step is to provide an email address and select a password. According to the site, there are no hidden fees and you may cancel at anytime.

How to Cancel Membership

One of the things that annoys me about a lot of sites is how they claim you can "cancel at anytime," which is technically true, but they make the process irritatingly difficult.

Unfortunately, this applies to VirtualTaboo as well. There is no clear cancellation process in place, let alone a proper page. In fact, the word "cancel" doesn't appear anywhere in their Terms and Conditions.

Instead, they seem to have left the cancellation issues in the hands of the third-party billing processors, which is a huge strike in my book.

Quality of Porn

VirtualTaboo deserves the industry awards its earned. The site offers a library of over 500 top-tier, professional quality VR porn films recorded and produced using state-of-the-art technology.

There are nearly 300 starlets on the site, including Eva Elfie, Scarlett Jones, Liya Silver, Alexa Flexy, Lika Star, and Dominno, though I do wish there were more A-list stars.

As with most VR porn, the filming is done from the point of view of the man in the scene (POV), so that you, the viewer, can feel like you are the one having intercourse with the ladies.

That certainly doesn't mean you need a penis to enjoy the product. It just means the fantasy experience is that of a man having sex with hot porn stars.

Most of the scenes' opening material is scripted, with a bit of dialogue and acting used to create some context. That being said, the participants usually get down to business within 2 or 3 minutes.

To their credit, the actresses seem to understand that POV porn requires a lot of eye contact and certain angles, and they make sure to create as realistic an experience as possible.

In fact, step-something threesome and foursome scenes are the site's most common theme.

If you go back to the earlier titles you'll find a large collection of Jerk-Off Instruction (JOI) videos, in addition to a lot of solo videos.

What you won't find much of are hardcore fetish scenes. There are a few foot-jobs and some fisting and such, but if you're into anything dark and sinister, this just isn't the site for you.

Content & Update Frequency

VirtualTaboo has nearly 120 pages of content, with 5 or 6 scenes per page. The content dates back to 2016, so don't be surprised to find some videos with resolutions below 7K, though everything is in HD.

According to the site you should expect to enjoy 12 new scenes per month, which is quite a promise. Many sites only offer one new video per week.

Given the site has uploaded well over 500 titles in the past 5 years, though, it's fair to assume they're serious.

To help you with your shopping, VirtualTaboo provides short previews of each title, which you can watch with or without VR equipment. You can also find at a few still shots from the title.

Members have the option to download the entire video and the album of 50 - 100 still shots from the scene. 

Due to the large size of VR files, VirtualTaboo offers the samples at various quality levels. If you just want a quick preview to watch on your smartphone, get the 1920*960 file.

If you're hoping to watch a preview with your VR rig, however, make sure to check the "?" icon to determine which sample is best for your brand of goggle.

Video & Image Quality

When you first land on the VirtualTaboo homepage you'll find a large gallery of porn titles in razor sharp 7K. That's means the pixel count is 7260*3630, for a total of 26,353,800 pixels.

To put that into context, 7K has 3 times the pixel count of 4K (due to geometric growth), and over 12 times the pixel count of 1080p, which we still unironically refer to as "HD+."

The only downside to such high-quality HD is that the file sizes are huge. A 30-minute clip is going to be over 4GB, so if you're working with limited space you might have to replace titles as you go.

It also means that while the movie will play on your phone, and it probably look very good, you'll have to devote a lot of space. Start erasing those songs!

It's important to keep in mind that these movies will also look very good on a regular computer monitor without VR glasses, but depending on the playback format you might get a slightly confusing "double" play.

That's because there's a separate feed for each eye of the goggles. If you don't want to drop a bunch of cash on goggles, consider picking up a Google Cardboard, which will at least give you the 3D experience.

A cardboard only runs about $20, and it works with most smartphones. It's not the same as "true" VR, but for the cost it's a great compromise.

Safety & Discretion

Many people feel a touch uneasy about giving out credit card info over the internet. I understand that, especially when you hear about major sites getting hacked.

So I'd like to take some time to clarify just how safe most sites are, include VirtualTaboo.

For one thing, they don't simply store your credit card data on some file like a folder on a desktop. The info is collected by payment processors with extremely rigorous security and certification standards.

The site is HTTPS compliant and its security certification is issues by BitDefender, which is a leading cybersecurity brand. Furthermore, the site uses the most reliable payment processors.

The other advantage to payment processors is that their name, rather than the site's appears on the bill. What you do in private is...well, private. They make sure of that.

To that end, they label the bill with some innocuous name like, "Billing LLC," or the like. You don't need to worry about a bill from "VirtualTaboo Sexy Fuck Porn" or something crazy like that.

In terms of customer support, VirtualTaboo has an email system, which is usually good enough. But in the days of 24/hr customer support chat, I'm a little surprised there's no way to reach them directly.

I'm not sure it's worthy of a smite, in part because the material is all downloadable, and that system seems to work just fine. But I do hope that add some kind of chat service soon.

If you're still uncomfortable giving your credit-card information, I suggest you use PayPal. There's no added fee, and PayPal is always going to be more secure and discrete.

The only thing safer than PayPal is cryptocurrency, like Bitcoin. Unfortunately, VirtualTaboo doesn't accept Bitcoin, so if that's how you'd like to pay, consider these sites that do accept Bitcoin.

Odds & Ends

If you take a look at the top of the VirtualTaboo page you'll notice they have links a series of link for VR Videos, Best Scenes, Pornstars, Tags, and Live VR Cams.

The VR Videos link leads you to the complete library of titles, while the Best Scenes link takes you to a list of the most popular titles based on purchases. 

The Pornstars link takes you to a complete list of the women starring in the films, as well as a few of the more famous men.  You can select any actor link to find a search result that includes all the titles with that actor.

The Tags link is particularly helpful, because VirtualTaboo tags every title with several terms that help you identify what takes place in that movie.

If you select a title you'll find all the tags for that film right under the media player. The tags include Ahegao, Big Ass, High Heels, Anal, Spying, Lesbian, Cheating, Cowgirl, Latina, MILF, Twins, and on and on.

Virtual Reality porn is a lot of fun. It adds a new dimension to the experience, and VirtualTaboo does a very good job with that.

There is no shortage of material, and new titles are uploaded more often than many other sites. It's without a doubt a site worth trying out.
